Reminder: Patient Access now available with NHS login
NHS login is now available for patients registering for Patient Access. Patients will be able to register online, then verify their identity online rather than attending at the practice with ID.
Existing Patient Access users can also use NHS login to access their account.

Don't forget, if you have missed a session, we've got you covered! All the sessions are recorded and available to view on our recorded sessions page.
Hints and tips
Some patients may accidentally be registered twice on EMIS Web. The patient may forget that they have already registered and register again, or they may have changed their name and not informed the practice. Whatever the reason, we have full instructions (including videos) on how to resolve duplicate patient records.
Product updates
Primary care
- Our new feature, Consultation Write Back is now fully available, please speak with your account director.
Consultation Write Back functionality launched last month and enables a copy of a consultation to be automatically written back into a patient’s registered GP record in seconds when they’re seen at another EMIS Web organisation.
Assistant - coming soon
- Assistant, going into pilot soon, is a new companion app to EMIS Web. Launched from EMIS Web, Assistant can be used for instant messaging, to show useful clinical information, and to view the latest news and updates with single sign-on to EMIS Now content. Find out more on EMIS Now.
Wales
- We've added an update which allows this new eMed3 fit note form to be emailed to patients once the form has been completed and signed. These updates will make the process quicker and easier for practices. We've now completed two updates for Wales as well as a Welsh language version.
Community
EMIS Mobile
- EMIS Mobile iOS version 6.3 is currently in public beta and will be released live very soon, introducing new functionality such as ‘add a care plan’ as well as some bug fixes and support for iOS 16.
- EMIS Mobile Android version 6.4 is also currently in public beta and will be released in October, introducing new functionality such as Body Maps (to highlight areas of concern after a consultation) as well as some bug fixes and support for Android 13.

Symphony
- The latest patch for Symphony 3.1 is now available and provides the following new enhancements:
- Active Directory - now supporting configurable user name combinations
- Chromiuim based browsers support
- Symphony web viewer
- Departmental dashboards
